Built with community. Built for local benefit.

Yourbrook is advancing tidal power on Haida Gwaii through a relationship-first approach grounded in respect, transparency, and long-term local value. We have a signed memorandum of understanding with Tll Yaahda Energy (TYE), a partnership between the Skidegate Band Council and Old Masset Village Council focused on local ownership and a 100% renewable grid.

Yourbrook has also received letters of support from local leadership and organizations, including the Council of the Haida Nation, Skidegate Band Council, Village of Daajing Giids, Village of Port Clements, Village of Masset, and the Swiilawiid Sustainability Society, as well as a letter from BC Hydro indicating openness to future discussions regarding viability and a potential electricity purchase agreement.

“We have a high regard for Yourbrook and the way they’ve conducted their business. They’ve done all the right things — they’ve come to the Haida Nation, they’ve come to the chiefs council, made sure things are okay and didn’t try to steamroll it through or anything. I can say that we’re 100 per cent behind their technology and want to wish them well in their endeavours.”

Frank Collison, Sithlda, Haida hereditary leader

“Swiilawiid supports community-based initiatives like Yourbrook’s… that will help us achieve energy independence.”
